Women are afraid of meeting a serial killer. Men are afraid of meeting someone fat.
When Strangers Click, a 2011 documentary about online dating.
It reminds me of that famous Margaret Atwood quote: “Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.” It also reminds me of something written by one of the mods of Sex Worker Problems: “Misandry irritates. Misogyny kills.”
I mean, it’s just true.

☹Anonymous asked: If you know you're crap at making effort surely that's the first step to sorting it out? It doesn't matter that you're far away a hello would be nice. The hash tags hurt more because I'm someone you've been doing exactly that too, and have done nothing to deserve not being acknowledged after a long friendship. I'm doing it anon to avoid confrontation, but hoping it makes you think at least.
if you were genuinely such a close friend, why not just say something to me?
if I don’t know that you feel neglected or w/e, how am I supposed to rectify it?
☹Anonymous asked: Do you not feel like you don't pay attention to people who are your friends and care for you?
I know I’m very self-absorbed and crap at making the effort with people
but it’s hard when I’m approximately 400 miles away from the majority of my friends (who all have jobs, boy/girlfriends, other friends) to keep in regular contact
